The Role of Rigid Stabilisation in Recovery


Unlike therapeutic compression gloves, a rigid splint or brace functions by immobilising the joint. This restricted movement is crucial for the healing process in cases of acute injury, tendonitis, and specific nerve entrapments.

By utilizing anatomical stays (often metal or plastic), our Thumb Support Braces prevent the joint from moving into positions that cause pain, such as hyperextension or repetitive gripping. This mandatory rest allows the inflammation around the tendons and nerves to subside.
